The building dated from 1200 and had been the home of many a Grandee. Its famed library of 29,000 volumes, many of which were uncopied originals, its 15th century documents relat-nig to the House of Aragon, and its valuable paintings, among which an authentic Goya, were all destroyed. The loss was about $2,000,000.
