In Berlin, Heinrich Kiihlemann was arrested for a series of petty thefts. Nothing extraordinary in this. Later investigation showed that he had made collections of dictionaries and grammars in 15 languages, none of which he studied; 16 large piles of police reports on accidents; enormous stacks of birth, marriage and death statistics; multitudes of obscene photographs. His sentence was not published.
