The Vatican last week announced July 15 as the date for the next
long-expected secret consistory for the creation of new Cardinals. The
only elevation known in advance was that of Mgr. Idlefonso Schuster,
abbot of the Basilica of St. Paul's, Rome, a German-Swiss who will be
made Cardinal Archbishop of Milan, a position once held by Pius XI.
