Sport: Dutchman

On the Charles River last week, three Princeton crews beat three M. I. T. crews. Princeton did not use its mysterious new shell, The Flying Dutchman. This shell, anonymously given, appeared prepaid one day at the Princeton boat house. It is eight feet shorter than the average shell, and nine inches wider. Flatbottomed, it is designed to skim the water rather than cut it. When it goes fast, it rises out of the water like a motor boat.
