SWEDEN: Right Gains

Socialist gains in last week's Danish election (see above) were not repeated when Swedes polled.

Early returns showed that the 65 Conservative seats in the Andra Kammaren (Lower Chamber) had increased to 73, while Socialist members diminished from 90 to 75. Thus the minority Cabinet of Prime Minister Carl Gustaf Ekman, Leader of the small People's Party, continues to hold the balance of power.

The insignificant Communist contingent of 4, doubled to a still insignificant 8.
