Work Done. Last week, the U. S. Representatives:

¶ Passed a bill raising the pay of 135,000 Government employes a total of $18,000,000 per annum; sent it to the Senate. ¶ Passed the Senate's bill to raise the retirement pay of 3,390 War officers who were disabled 30% or more, to the scale paid regular retired officers, entailing $2,294,000 per annum (average, $56.40 per month per officer); Representatives Johnson (South Dakota), McClintic (Oklahoma) Luce (Massachusetts), Rankin (Mississippi), Vincent (Michigan), Huddleston (Alabama) opposed this bill but it was passed without a roll call....
