Sport: World's Record

Martha Norelius swam a mile last week faster than any woman had ever done it before. Stop watches clicked as she kicked hither and thither over the 55-yard course of the Biltmore Shores Yacht Club at Massapequa, L. I. establishing five world's records:

500 metres.....7 min., 38 1/5 sec. 850 metres.... 12 min., 26 3/5 sec. 1,000 metres..15 min., 39 2/5 sec. 1,500 metres..23 min., 44 3/5 sec. One mile........ 25 min., 13 2/5 sec.

In this battle for records and for the National A. A. U. one-mile championship, Miss Norelius was seldom more than a muscular forearm...
