Southwest from Washington traveled Vice President Charles Gates Dawes. He departed for Cimarron, N. Mex., where Waite Phillips, Tulsa, (Okla.) oilman has a 150,000-acre ranch. Vacationing later than the President, the Vice President had opportunity to acquaint himself with the beauties of many western portions of the U. S. as evidenced by the various resolutions which state legislatures passed when the site of the President's summer capital was still under debate.
