Foreign News: Aluminum Change

Franc pieces and two-franc pieces were minted into mountainous piles for the first time since the War; 88,000,000 francs in metallic currency were ordered struck, of this 38,000,000 in "small change," nickel and aluminum 5, 10 and 25 centime pieces.

The copper centime coins will gradually be withdrawn from circulation and replaced by nickel and aluminum. The bronze francs will go out side by side with paper money, which they partially replace.
