Sitting on suitcases, chattering on platforms, giggling in club cars, the young ladies of Smith College went home for Christmas, discussing as they puffed cigarets, or not discussing as they sniffed at the smoke, the decision of Smith student legislators, arrived at last week after prolonged thought, to permit smoking on the path circling Paradise Pond on the Smith campus and in tea-rooms of the town (Northampton, Mass.).
