ROUMANIA: First Locomotive

A locomotive and a Queen stood side by side at Resita, Roumania. The Queen was swathed in a blue duster, booted high, gauntleted to her elbows. Proud Marie of Roumania gazed with approval upon the first and as yet the only made-in-Roumania locomotive. Mounting into the cab, she encouraged King Ferdinand and Premier Averescu to follow her. Tutored by a grimy minion, she opened the throttle, piloted the locomotive three miles in four minutes.
