So this year the gold medal for "most distinguished and meritorious service rendered by an American newspaper" was awarded to a brave, obscure journal, which had dared in Georgia to oppose the Ku Klux Klan, the antievolutionists, the lynchers. That paper was the Columbus, Ga., Enquirer Sun.
