Home from a tour of Japan, a graduate baseball team from the Univertisy of Chicago related that the game of baseball has "taken hold" in Japan. Annually an all-Japan high school tournament is held in Osaka. Innumerable semiprofessional teams tour the country, though there are no professional leagues.
