LATIN AMERICA: Zero Weather

As a reminder that one half of the world is farther away from the sun than the other, came the news that at Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina, glacial winds last week swept the streets, driving the thermometer down to 5° below zero.

In Buenos Aires and in other parts of the country, several deaths from exposure were reported. Much of the republic lay under heavy snowdrifts.
