The question was raised again as to the "ten largest industrial companies" whose shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Selection depends largely upon the basis taken for determining si.ze. In point of total capitalization (including bonded indebtedness and stock capitalization) the ranking is as following:

U. S. Steel, $2,126,000,000. Bethlehem Steel, $571,200,000. General Motors, $458,220,000. Armour & Co., $429,400,000. General Electric, $297,000,000. Swift & Co., $292,000,000. Du Pont de Nemours, $240,000.000. International Harvester, $215,000,000. Allied Chemical, $191,464,000. American Tobacco, $179,900,000.
