Selection depends largely upon the basis taken for determining si.ze. In point of total capitalization (including bonded indebtedness and stock capitalization) the ranking is as following:

U. S. Steel, $2,126,000,000. Bethlehem Steel, $571,200,000. General Motors, $458,220,000. Armour & Co., $429,400,000. General Electric, $297,000,000. Swift & Co., $292,000,000. Du Pont de Nemours, $240,000.000. International Harvester, $215,000,000. Allied Chemical, $191,464,000. American Tobacco, $179,900,000.
