SPAIN: Sharks

For some time the Spanish Government has been much exercised over questions and problems affecting the welfare and upbringing of sardines.

The attention of the Government was first attracted by irate fishermen who deposed that several youthful sardines had been attacked by a horde of rough sharks, swallowed whole. Encouraged, the sharks executed a series of wholesale assassinations and the reign of terror, thus begun, rapidly reached such a stage that the Government intervened, despatched a number of warships to the scene with orders to shoot at sight all sharks.
