1) Vigoroux, after the first hearings, asked for a trial by jury, and
was remanded to prison to await the criminal court.
2) L'Intransigeant, of Paris, cast doubt on the authenticity of three
statues sold in America by Demotte for $60,000, previously unmentioned
in the controversy.
