National Affairs: To Annapolis

The Honorable William E. Mason, Representative-at-Large from Illinois, died last year. On November 7 his daughter, Winifred Mason Huck, of Chicago, was elected to fill his term. Mrs. Huck's term expired on March 4 last. Much of the time that Congress was in session, she was not at Washington. She was campaigning to be elected to the seat of James R. Mann, who died November 30. Mrs. Huck was defeated in a special election for Representative Mann's seat.

While Mrs. Huck was in office, however, she made all her allowed appointments to Annapolis....
