Medicine: A New Serum

A prominent Philadelphian suffering from sleeping sickness completely recovered after several injections of the Mayo serum for the disease, administered by Dr. John A. Kolmer, professor of bacteriology in the University of Pennsylvania and a director of the Research Institute for Cutaneous Medicine. The paralysis which usually follows encephalitis has not developed. The serum was discovered by Dr. E. C. Rosenow, of the Mayo Laboratories, Minnesota.
