The American section of the Women's International League for Peace and
Freedom held a three-day conference in Washington. The World Court
and diplomatic recognition of Russia were the chief subjects of debate.
An affiliated committee sent telegrams to the President and to
Secretary Hughes protesting against " the worn-out excuses" offered by
our Government for not recognizing Russia.
