THE pictures on this page introduce the writers, researchers, reporters and editors of TIME'S Nation section. The main part of their Election Day job did not begin until after the polls started to close. Then, as on-the-spot reports were filed by TIME correspondents across the country, Nation staff members wound up the demanding, detailed coverage of the campaign by working around the clock.
