¶ Old rumors that Manhattan's beloved Carnegie Hall would be sold and torn down were routed last week with the announcement that a new "Andrew Carnegie Memorial" organ has been purchased for the auditorium. Built by George Kilgen & Son. Inc., of St. Louis (organ architects for St. Patrick's Cathedral, Manhattan), it will be one of the largest and most elaborate in the U. S.
¶ Three Americans, three Hungarians, three Russians and an Italian will next year take seats left vacant by ten men in the New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra....
