On the theory that Big Names can often do Big Things, Joseph E. Barlow, 66-year-old U. S. citizen with a $5,000,000 land claim against the Cuban Government (TIME, April 29), last week hired what he considered two Big Names to help him pull his claim through to payment. One name was Campbell Bascom Slemp, the other was Everett Sanders. Both were once secretaries to President Coolidge. Shrewd men both, Messrs. Slemp and Sanders entered the Barlow case just at a time when it appeared most likely to prove lucrative.
