Rent and sore from its April primary, the G. 0. P. of Ohio last week reached the first stage of real convalescence. Carmi Alderman Thompson, voluble Clevelander who led the late Senator Willis' presidential campaign and inveighed bitterly against the invading forces of Hooverism, withdrew his candidacy for the U. S. Senate in favor of Representative Theodore Elijah Burton, venerable Hoover leader.
