The first meeting for many years of the officers and directors of the U. S. Chamber of Commerce in Boston, occurred. As usual with such gatherings, a variety of topics was discussed; perhaps the principal emphasis was laid upon railway transportation, upon which several special committees of the Chamber have been at work for some time.
