The publication of the Bradstreet index of prices as of Oct. 1 clearly
showed a continued upward swing The index number for Oct. 1, 1923 was
$13.0974a gain of 1.3% over the figure for Sept. 1. At this latest
date prices stand 42% above the average for the year 1913 and 73% under
the high record for all time established in May, 1920.
