M. Marcel Cachin, member of the Chamber of Deputies and leader of the French Communist Party, together with M. Vaillant-Couturier, another Communist Deputy, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment and a fine of 2,000 francs ($118.40) for inciting soldiers to disobedience. M. Cachin was absent in Russia when he heard that his case was to be brought to trial.
