The Canadian Club of Vancouver gave Edward of Wales and his brother George a royal welcome. Responding to the ovation, the elder prince said he had "two strings to his bow" and that his younger brother was anxious to tell in his own words how much he had enjoyed his trip through the Dominion.

George, rising, withered Wales with a glance and, in his first public speech in Canada, began forthwith to twit the heir to the British throne:
