Education: Orchestras

During the past week four of the most important U. S. orchestras made their announcements of dates, soloists and new works to be played during the coming season. They are:

The Philadelphia Orchestra, Leopold Stokowski, conductor, will give 102 concerts, 78 of them in Philadelphia. There will be the regular series of 29 Friday afternoon and Saturday evening concerts, begin- ning Oct. 8 and ending April 30, and 10 Monday evening concerts and a double series of young people's concerts Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
