Luminous paragraphs culled from the Queen's earnest pages: Of Wilhelm II (her grandson, at the age of seven [1866], five years before his Hohenzollern grandfather, Wilhelm I, was proclaimed Emperor of Germany [1871] after the Franco Prussian War).
