Education: Imperishable

In Paris, Tex., the will of the late William J. MacDonald, banker, was filed for probate. To relatives, bequests of $120,000. To the University of Texas, $1,400,000— for an astronomical observatory to bear the donor's name. Dean Harry Yandell Benedict, Professor of Astronomy, declared: "This gift will make the name of Mr MacDonald as imperishable as the science of astronomy itself and will attract scientists who will spread Mr. MacDonald's name to every part of the world!"
