Music: Chevalier

In Chicago, at the first Symphony Concert of the season, Antonin Barthelemy, French consul to Chicago, mounted the stage, kissed Conductor Frederick Stock on both cheeks, made him a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor.

Other U. S. musicians similarly decorated are: John Alden Carpenter, composer; Herman Devries, musician, critic, gourmet, raconteur.
