Two British journalists; an anti-British mob.

The mob took the journalists (Cox and Oliver). The mob took iron chains. It chained the journalists by the neck. It took them into the streets of Canton and deposited them in a small bamboo cage. For 17 hours the mob hissed, booed, jeered, sneered, pelted, insulted the two animals in the cage.

Then the Cantonese authorities released the two journalists, and apologized to them, sending them to Shameen and British friends for safety.
