National Affairs: Brave

At Governor's Island, N. Y., the 16th Infantry marched in parade. Three soldiers reviewed the regiment. One was Charles P. Summerall, the second was Stanley Ford, the third was Louis F. de Fost. Mr. Summerall is Major General in command of the Second Corps Area. Mr. Ford is Colonel of the 16th. Soldier de Fost is a Private in Company D of the 16th.

Why was Private de Fost granted the honor of reviewing his regiment? The honor was for gallantry in rescuing a woman in drowning.
