His Excellency Signor Giacomo de Martino, newly appointed Italian Ambassador to the U. S., left Rome, went to Naples, embarked on the Conte Verde bound for Manhattan, where the Ambassador will entrain for Washington.

As the Conte Verde churned the waters of the Bay of Naples, the Conte Rosso, not to be outdone, also churned those waters. On board the latter ship was the returning Italian Ambassador to the U. S., Prince Gelesio Caetani. He had missed his successor by one hour.
