¶ The President let it be known that he would call a special session of the Senate on Mar. 4 to confirm his nominations to Cabinet posts and other appointments of importance, but that the Senate would not be called upon to remain in session to consider treaties now awaiting ratification. ¶The official Congressional reception, with 2,000 guests present, was given at the White House.
