The Department returned $25,128,786 of its appropriations for the fiscal year 1924 to the Treasury, unspent. The savings: $23,000,000 in the Pension Bureau; $1,000,000 in the Reclamation Bureau; $500,000 in the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
