ago, Mrs. Rosalie Evans, U. S.-born widow of a British subject, was
murdered by Mexicans (TIME, Aug. 11, 18).
Last week, one Alejo Garcia and one Francisco Ruiz were sentenced to
death for the murder, after a trial lasting several days.
A foreign observer said: "After the executions, relations between
Britain and Mexico will be less strained."
