From more than one quarter, the comment was made that there was no better Republican campaigner on the stump than Charles E. Hughes. He spoke widely from the Atlantic to the Middle Westin New York, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Chicago, Kansas City, as well as in a number of other cities. With the comment on his effectiveness went the remark that he was a better advocate of Mr. Coolidge than he had been of Mr. Hughes eight years earlier.
