Texans are independent in their ways and opinions. When the House passed a resolution to permit President Coolidge to spend $100,000 in investigating the oil scandals, one adverse vote was cast—by BIanton, a Texan. Now the Pension Committee is considering a bill to grant a pension of $5,000 a year to Mr. Harding. Representative Hatton
