Foreign News: Humiliation

Baron Yoshiro Sakatani, former Minister of Education, spoke thus in the House of Peers at Tokyo:

"The seeds of a future world war will be sown if the United States enacts the exclusion law [now being discussed in Congressional committee]. The Japanese could not submit to the humiliation of being treated like Negroes. A prophet is not required to predict a crisis in American-Japanese relations. Every believer in world peace is duty bound to oppose the passage of this most unreasonable measure."
