It befell that an ex-President of the U. S. celebrated his 67th birthday anniversary in his home on S. Street, Washington. Unnamed friends presented him with an automobile, "a new specially designed model of an exclusive make" (a Rolls-Royce with touring and limousine bodies). The first Mr. Wilson knew of the gift was when the new car drove up to his home to take him for his daily ride.
Next morning the Daily News, Manhattan gum-chewers' sheetlet, published photographs of Mr. Wilson in his new car.
