At half past
eleven o'clock in the morning, when many were busy erecting a new Tokyo
on the debris of the old Tokyo, ruined by the great September
earthquake (TIME, Sept. 10 et seq.), the Imperial city was shaken by
another sharp quake which lasted eleven minutes. No damage was done,
but many people were thoroughly frightened and some left the city.
