A monument to the late U. S. President. Warren G. Harding, whose friendship for China and world peace was proved by his calling the Washington Conference, was unveiled in Central Park (Peking) near the altar of the Five Earths (which symbolizes the five races of China) on the 2,400th anniversary of the death of Confucius. There were present among others: Dr. Jacob Gould Schurman, U. S. Minister; Dr. V. K. Wellington Koo, former Chinese Minister to the U.
