Jean Julien Lemordant, Breton painter, made art his bride until 1914. Then he divorced her for La
Belle France. War left him sightless but unbowed. His fellow artists rallied to his support. The last picture he painted was in this year's Salon de la SociÉtÉ Nationale. Recently he was promoted from Officer to Commandeur of the Legion d'Honneur. Great painters struggled to carry him on their shoulders through the Grand Palais. G. C. Bonnat, Director of the École des Beaux Arts, made him Professor of Esthetics for life. Lemordant struggles on.
