Foreign News: Polygamy and Polyandry

The divorce law, giving women the right to sue for divorce on the same grounds as men, passed its second reading in the House of Lords. It passed its third reading in the Commons early this month.

Lord Braye criticized the measure, because he thought that " Great Britain would degenerate into the condition of America, where the state of affairs is merely camouflaged polygamy and polyandry."

The Archbishop of Canterbury supported the bill, because it provided for the dissolution of marriage on the sole ground of adultery.
