Business & Finance: President Silkworth Quits

W. S. Silkworth announced his intention of resigning as President of the Consolidated Stock Exchange by July 1 "in the interest of the exchange." He will be succeeded by the Vice President, Lawrence Tweedy. The latter became a member of the Consolidated in 1900, a year after his graduation from Yale, and has for several years been an official of the organization.

It is understood that Mr. Tweedy, who has had an intimate knowledge of the recent failures on the Consolidated, will devote himself to a complete reorganization of the small exchange.
