According to Dr. Morton Howell, American Minister to Egypt, the Egyptian Government will not promulgate its new law prohibiting the exportation of antiquities discovered by foreigners.

Under the existing order of things the Government claims a half share of all discoveries made in its territory, the remaining half becoming the unconditional property of the finder.
