Since the beginning of the historic events of the Arab Spring, we have done five cover stories focused on Egypt. (I'm not including the 2011 Person of the Year cover on the Protester, which was in part inspired by Tahrir Square.) We did a cover late last year on Mohamed Morsi, the first-ever democratically elected leader of Egypt. I interviewed President Morsi for that story, and while he did not seem to be a very adept politician, he also did not seem to be an autocrat in the making.
