LEV GROSSMAN: I want to say that I just spent an entire week at the beach, and I read about two pages. Whoever came up with the idea of beach reading obviously doesn't have three kids. It's a lot of work just keeping them from drowning.

RADHIKA JONES: Beach reading is a myth, even for nonparents. Beach napping is what we should be recommending. But I was thinking we should follow our own assignment and exchange all-time favorite summer reading stories. Are you game?
